Vehicles in Germany's City Discovered Covered with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Police Confirm

Officers mentioned they were contacted by a individual who discovered a vehicle in Hanau marked with reddish substance

Around fifty automobiles have been marked with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm police.

Vehicles, walls and mailboxes were defaced, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they stated in a statement.

Officers say they were alerted late on Wednesday evening, when a resident noticed that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued fluid.

The liquid had been drawn in the shape of a banned symbol, they added.

Law enforcement then discovered many other marked automobiles and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.

Swastikas are illegal in Germany under regulations outlawing the public display of Nazi symbols.

Police state preliminary tests show the substance was most likely human blood.

"There is still no lead as to where it came from; officials are currently not aware of any injuries in connection with the incident," they commented.

Municipal representatives said they were attempting "to unravel the incident" and have appealed to the community for information.

A senior official commented the attack left him stunned and required to be addressed rapidly.

"This event hits the center of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the right-wing violent incident five years ago," he stated on a platform, referring to the killing of nine people by a shooter targeting residents of migrant background in five years prior.
